Request for renewal of trademark registration should be filed with the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (“NOIP”) within a period of six months prior to the expiration of the registration. Request for renewal of trademark registration should be filed with the National Office of Intellectual Property of Vietnam (“NOIP”) within a period of six months prior to the expiration of the registration. A grace period of six month computed from the expiration of the registration is available within which the trademark owner has the right to file request for renewal provided that a surcharge is necessary. The renewal process at the NOIP usually takes two or three months. Information required for renewal Current Name and Address of the Trademark owner, Classes of Goods/Services to be renewed. Documents required for renewal § An originally signed Power of Attorney from trademark owner is required at filing though notarization is not necessary. § Original Certificate of Trademark Registration is needed in case the trademark owner requests the recordal of renewal in the Certificate. |
